On the evening of January 13, the Patriarch Moses on the eve of the New year, ministered the thanksgiving prayer service to God for all that happened in our life in the last year, for the endless love of God to us, for the God's mercy, for His blessing of our life, our families and our homes.

The Old New Year's Eve is the thanksgiving evening to God, is the evening of joy and hope of the happy future. Since ancient times, our remote ancestors believed that on the New Year's Eve God blessed rural fields and rural homes, household and cattle. The good people again prepare kutia (sweet grain pudding) as gratitude to God, gather at the hearty supper and sing shchedrivky (Ukrainian the Old New Year's Eve carols).

The Old New Year's Eve gathered also our Christ's family, united in the sincere prayer to God and endowed our souls with the happy moments of communication at the festive supper. And our good housewives prepared kutia for all the people, each - by her special recipe. Which one is the best? The contest was complicated but the jury having worked well with their spoons made the conclusion that the most delicious is the kutia of the youngest housewife.

Glory to God for such happy moments! Glory to God that He endows us with His endless generosity with the ability to be cheerful, happy and to keep in our memory this state of soul, that is the source of inspiration and love for a long time.
